On August 21st 1969 a fire broke out in the AlAqsa Mosque, Jerusalem. The fire did untold damage and much controversy surrounds the motivation of the arsonist who caused it as well as the efforts of Israeli authorities to extinguish it. Hamdan's documentary discusses the most important activities involved in the subsequent restoration of the mosque and the rescue and protection of its valuable manuscripts. Through eyewitness accounts, the historical importance of the mosque and Israel's reaction to the fire of 1969 is explored.
