SENSE OF NEED Directed by | Shady Srour Genre fiction | Length: 90mins | Year of production: 2004 Nazarethborn Srour's autobiographical essay on identity between Israel, Palestine and post9/11 USA, is an intriguing debut. Mixing between a wide range of visual formats, he offers a series of contemplations on an identity crisis that appears as much artistic performance as eastwest divide. Casting himself in a sequence of Christ cameos, Srour (who describes his film as a genius feature) moves between deafening pretensions and selfparody without leaving the viewer knowing quite where the line ought to be drawn.
